The Member of Parliament for the Ndu Constituency Honourable Mbongnyor Naomi Ngando, has continued to assert a strong presence at the grassroots through a series of development oriented and humanitarian interventions aimed at improving living conditions and strengthening traditional institutions within the municipality.

On Wednesday, January 28, the lawmaker donated 100 bags of cement to support the renovation of the Mbipgo Fon’s Palace.

The handover ceremony took place in the presence of the Development Chairperson, traditional notables and community leaders.

Receiving the consignment, the Fon of Mbipgo expressed appreciation for what he described as a timely and meaningful gesture. He assured that the materials would be put to effective use for the ongoing rehabilitation works, while commending the parliamentarian for promoting politics that delivers visible development to the people.

The traditional authority further recalled that at the beginning of her mandate, Hon. Mbongnyor Naomi Ngando had supported the Mbipgo Health Centre with ten hospital mattresses and a generator, a contribution that improved the operational capacity of the facility.

In furtherance of her community development drive, the Member of Parliament also provided a consignment of wheelbarrows, spades and digging forks to the village of Sina, intended to support routine maintenance of community roads.

The equipment was handed to village representatives to facilitate collective road works and ease movement, particularly during the rainy season.

Barely a day later, on Thursday, January 29, the MP extended similar support to the Ndu Fon’s Palace, donating another 100 bags of cement for the ongoing facelift of the traditional institution.

While receiving the materials, the Fon of Ndu described the donation as timely, noting that it came at a critical stage of renovation works. He offered prayers and blessings for the parliamentarian, encouraging her to continue serving the population with dedication and commitment.

The recent donations form part of a broader pattern of sustained engagement with traditional authorities across the municipality.

Over the years, Hon. Mbongnyor Naomi Ngando has supported renovation works at several palaces, including Ngulu, Nseh Makop, Wowo, Boyar Sub-Palace, and other sub-palaces in Mbipgo. In line with custom, she has also consistently donated a cow to nearly all palaces during Bfubfu cultural celebrations, reinforcing cultural heritage and community cohesion.

Beyond infrastructure and tradition, the lawmaker has also demonstrated solidarity in times of crisis. Following the January 14 armed attack in Gidado, Mbandfung, Hon. Mbongnyor Naomi Ngando on January 29 donated 20 bags of rice to survivors of the attack.

The humanitarian assistance was handed over in Gidado, where beneficiaries expressed gratitude and called for lasting peace in the conflict-affected area. Many noted that the gesture brought relief at a moment of deep trauma, while renewing hope that stability would soon return to the region.

Through these successive interventions, Hon. Mbongnyor Naomi Ngando continues to reinforce a model of parliamentary representation grounded in proximity, solidarity and practical development reflecting a leadership approach that places community welfare at the centre of public service.
