HON. NJINGUM MUSA WARNS AGAINST POLITICAL MANIPULATION, CALLS FOR PEACE AHEAD OF ELECTIONS

Hon. Njingum Musa Mbutoh, Member of Parliament for Ngoketunjia North Constituency in the North West Region and First Quaestor of the Cameroon National Assembly, has urged Cameroonians to safeguard peace, promote unity and resist political manipulation as the country approaches the upcoming municipal and parliamentary elections.
Speaking on Sunday during the finals of the Hon. Njingum Musa Inter Veterans Cup at the Ndop Municipal Stadium, the lawmaker called on citizens to remain vigilant, exercise sound political judgement and reject attempts to exploit them for partisan interests. He emphasised that peaceful coexistence and responsible political engagement must remain priorities throughout the electoral process.
His message comes as political activities gather momentum ahead of the elections, a period in which public vigilance and respect for differing political opinions will be essential to preserving social cohesion. He urged citizens to make informed decisions and place the collective interest of their communities above divisive political considerations.
Beyond the electoral message, the Inter Veterans Cup has provided a platform for promoting sportsmanship, community participation and solidarity among veterans and residents. By bringing people together through sport, the tournament underscores the role of sporting activities in strengthening social bonds and fostering peaceful coexistence across communities.
However, the central message of the occasion extended beyond the football pitch: political competition should never become a source of division or instability. For Hon. Musa, peace, unity and responsible civic participation remain indispensable to a stable society and a peaceful electoral process in Cameroon.
