Parli Access: New Digital Platform Launched to Connect Citizens to Parliament

The Policy Lab for Civic Innovation and Corporate Solutions better known as Politicos has launched "Parli Access", a new digital platform designed to strengthen democratic participation and build stronger connections between citizens, Parliament and public institutions.

The platform was officially unveiled today September 17, 2026 at the United Nations Human Rights Central Africa Regional Office in Bastos, Yaounde, under the slogan “Connecting Citizens to Parliament.”

Parli Access is designed as a digital space for parliamentary information, civic education and citizen engagement, providing citizens with greater opportunities to access information, understand parliamentary processes and participate in public affairs.

The initiative is supported by the Digital Democracy Initiative and forms part of Politicos' broader efforts to promote meaningful citizen participation in governance.

Speaking during the launch, Mr. MBI AZISEH, Executive Director of Politicos, said the initiative is intended to create spaces where citizens can learn, engage, express their views and contribute to public decision-making.

He said the platform reflects the need to strengthen the relationship between citizens and the institutions responsible for representing them.

Baptized as "The People’s Parliament", the initiative aims to strengthen democratic participation by connecting citizens with elected representatives and public institutions through civic education, policy dialogue, accountability, research, leadership development and public engagement. Its vision is to see a democratic society where every citizen is informed, engaged, represented and empowered to contribute meaningfully to governance and public decision-making.

During the launch, one of the speakers emphasized that the value of Parli Access will depend not only on making information available, but also on ensuring that it is easy to access, easy to understand and usable by citizens.

She described Parli Access as civic technology that can bridge the gap between Parliament and the people, highlighting the importance of accessible information in enabling citizens to participate effectively in democratic processes.

With its launch, Parli Access adds a digital dimension to efforts to promote civic education and public engagement, providing a platform intended to make parliamentary information more accessible while creating new avenues for citizens to connect with their representatives and participate in public decision-making.
