At the invitation of Professor Nalova Lyonga Pauline, Cameroon’s Minister of Secondary Education, members of the National Assembly Committee on Education, Professional Training and Youth paid a working visit to Government Bilingual High School (GBHS) Essos, Yaoundé.

The visit offered lawmakers a first-hand appraisal of how digital learning reforms are being implemented across the secondary education sub-sector.

The parliamentary delegation was led by Hon. Gabriel Fandja, Chairperson of the Committee, alongside Hon. Njume Peter Ambang, Deputy Chairperson, and committee members Hon. Manjuh Nestus and Hon. Evina Ovambe Bernadette.

During the on-site demonstrations, officials from the Ministry of Secondary Education walked the legislators through smart classrooms, connected learning platforms, and digital tools currently deployed at GBHS Essos. Muluh Godson, a digital education expert at the ministry, underscored the transformative role of cloud computing and artificial intelligence in equipping “third-generation learners” with skills aligned to a fast-evolving, technology-driven world.

Addressing the visiting MPs, Minister Nalova Lyonga expressed appreciation for the committee’s presence and engagement, emphasizing the importance of legislative oversight in consolidating reforms.
